It’s not possible to keep every memento, souvenir, keepsake — regardless of how small or insignificant — but darned if we don’t keep trying. At least that’s been my experience when it comes to making split-second decisions on whether to save something or toss it in the trash.
Our inventories of treasure and junk can get unmanageable as the years go rolling by, whether it’s T-shirts, caps, ticket stubs, souvenir programs, or you name it. A lifelong passion for all things relating to TCU football has left me with a world-class collection of stuff with combined value of, well, probably close to nothing. But they’re meaningful to me. Incidentally, I applaud the Kilgore lady who came up with the idea of making quilts from old college T-shirts. What a perfect, innovative way to make something useful out of nothing.
